Christmas Lights

Lights instantiate

Christmas, make it real

In my mind’s eye.

The tree could stay in

The wilderness, its lights,

Colored or white, happily

Illuminate another surface.

Bright stars dash to earth,

Bounce off shards of ice,

Radiating, glowing,

Scintillating, sparkling,

Shimmering, glimmering

Lights,

Lights,

Lights,

Lights,

Lights,

Lights,

Lights,

The twinkling and the blinking,

Of the lights.

(Apologies to Edgar Allen Poe)

  1. Joanne, I love this . The reflection of holiday lights on snow adds to the magic. Thanks for sharing it with me.
